FESTIVAL FUN FLASHBACK - Purim

 CRAZY HAT DAY

We started off the month of Adar with a Crazy Hat day assembly and parade. It was great to see all the cool and creative hats across the  school. We even kept our hats on for lessons and activities. There was a raffle and some k2 friends even wone prizes!!! So much fun!!

The PURIM STORY

Telling the story of purim was such a blast. We used puppets, and interactive castle and lots of props to bring the tale to life. K2 friends had a chance to participate and the whole saga was completed over 2 weeks of lessons. We couldn't wait to get to the next part of the story!!

MISHLOACH MANOT - sorting by small, medium & large

Morah Dawn has been focusing on sorting sizes small, medium and large. We sorted mishloach manot items into 'ready to eat' and not ready. we only use foods which are 'ready to eat' in mishloach manot.

See below pictures on our size sorting lesson

First we started with a mixture of items, both ready to eat and not ready to eat.
None of the items were sorted by size. The first task was to REMOVE all items which are NOT ready to eat right away.

Flour isn't something you can eat right away. Well spotted Aiden!

Ariella placed the items we can't use,  aside on a table

That's right Mariella, uncooked beans are not ready to eat

Ella noticed a bottle of oil. We can't just drink that right away, so it doesn't belong.

Rachel is sorting the citrus fruits into size order.
Small on top, medium in the middle and large on bottom.
She noticed something wasn't right and took the fruit down to have a better look.

Rafael is sorting the water bottles he found into small, medium and large.

Now Ashlee has found corn snacks which need to be added to the correct sized basket

Our size sorted mishloach manot baskets are filling up, thanks to everybody's help!!
