Festival Fun Flashbacks - PURIM DAY at Mazel

Purim Activities!!

We started off the day with a Kindergarten fashion parade, everybody had a chance to show off their awesome costumes and see what their friends dressed up as.

We went on to participate in 4 activities, each connected to a different one of the mitzvos of Purim

  1. Hearing the Megilla: For this mitzva, we created Purim Puppets with Morah Batsheva to re-enact the story of the Purim as told in the Megillah
  2. Eating a Purim Feast: We filled a plate of popcorn by doing a race. 2 players had a full plate of popcorn and a straw. The race was to use the straw to suck each piece of popcorn up and drop it onto the empty plate. The winner was the one who finished first.
  3. Giving 2 'ready to eat' foods to a friend. Mishloach Manot: We each pulled a name out of a cup. Boy selected a boy and girl selected a girl. We packed a bag of mishloach manot and decorated it for a friend. There were delicious items to choose from on the table.
  4. Matanot L'Evyonim' Giving a coin to 2 different charities: We played a game with Morah Tehilla where we had lots of coins to toss into different 'charities'. Some of them were quite tricky. It was like an obstacle course. Everbody waited their turn and tried to get as many coins as they could into the different tzedakah boxes.
